Why Cant She Remember That?

As a child goes along in life it is important to not only keep reading to them and once they get older have them read to you on occasion or by themselves, but also about diversity that they may see in their school.http://www.sheknows.com/parentingarticles/98657/10-childrens-books-that-teach-diversityThis link shows a wide range of books that teach elementary students about diversity in the world and how its not only one ethnicity. They need to be taught this because something a white person may know isn't something a colored person may know or visa versa because of how their parents raise them. Some kids in lower level families, as taught to us in class when Inspiring Minds came to train us they said that some of the kids we may tutor or see may not know as many words because their parents do not communicate with them as much as other parents do. It is important to not only read to your child or practice math, but also to communicate with them so they what words mean when they hear them or how to use it in  the correct context when writing or speaking something. When reading to a children make sure to not make it to boring or they will not understand or pay attention, it is important to "make the book come alive" as Meier states in her article. It is not only making sure they are paying attention to you, but also that they get what they are listening to.
